Solar Cell Inspection

The efficiency of a solar cell is dependent on many factors. For solar cells which rely on an imprinted silver finger pattern to conduct the generated currents one of these factors is the integrity of this pattern. With damaged/interrupted conduits the yield of the solar cell drops leading to a loss in efficiency.

Using a 2D Quality Control system all the silver conduits undergo an automatic visual inspection. Individual faulty solar cells can be removed from the production process. Consecutive faulty solar cells may indicate a problem with the mask used to imprint the silver finger pattern onto the solar cell.
